About me

I kickstarted my dream of empowering individuals with my BSc. Specialized Honours in Psychology at York University. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts; and have my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

People who come to me; are experiencing PTSD/C-PTSD, OCD, perinatal trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, identity issues, parenting support, grief and loss, ADHD, Autism; and immigrants, refugees and newcomers to Canada who are struggling with their sense of belonging.

I have worked with children, youth, and adults from various cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as a variety of gender identities, abilities, and sexual orientations. I am sensitive to diversity, inclusion, and equity, with a value for pluralism. I bring 10+ years of experience with children, youth, and adults. I have also volunteered at Toronto Rehab, Holland Bloor view Kids Rehab, Toronto Distress Centers, Kids Help Phone and Wood green Community Services. I have gained experience in providing a wide variety of psychotherapeutic techniques with children/teens, adults, and the geriatric population. I have considerable experience with a value on a holistic approach to treatment that focus on your heart, mind, body, and soul.

My Story

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA-ONT), and an EMDR therapist; who provides care to people who have experienced trauma; be that one traumatic event, or multiple traumas over the course of your life. I also help people to clarify and achieve personal goals, develop self-awareness and self-compassion.

Many factors contributed to my passion to become a therapist, including immigrating to Canada, grief over lost friends, identity and cultural adjustment, parenting; and having lived experience as a witness to my loved ones struggling with trauma.

Growing up in the 90’s in India; therapy was mostly viewed as taboo with minimal support. My journey to becoming a therapist was driven by my experiences; to provide the support that my friends and I could have used in our formative years. In addition, becoming a parent brought with it joys and challenges in navigating life transitions, trauma, relational struggles, and grief/loss.

I have (and continue to see) a therapist for personal and relationship challenges, and I know that I can be the best version of myself as a person, parent, and partner because of it. The positive impact can be seen in my interactions with others, compassion towards self, and my love for life. I know how important making time to refill my own resources is and I appreciate getting the opportunity to check in with my therapist for support in my own life.
